Melona’s story began in 1992 with the creation of our iconic honeydew-flavored Melona bar.
At the time, honeydew was a relatively unknown and inaccessible fruit in Korea. Despite this, we were determined to bring this unique and delightful flavor to the masses, and so we experimented with it in our ice cream.

1995 was the year of Melona’s legendary dawn in Hawaii. Since then, Melona quickly became a household name in the state.
A decade later in 2016, the first US branch opened in San Francisco. We take pride to craft our bars, pints, mochi, and more in Washington with the finest quality ingredients available. As word spread of its delicious flavor and unique texture, more and more stores became eager to carry Melona. Melona bars alone account for 70% of all Korean ice cream sold in the US.
